Lakteen Kbeere

Large individual pumpkin kibbeh pieces — the same bulgur-and-pumpkin shell with walnut and caramelised onion filling as the Kibbeh Lakteen tray, but formed into generously sized oval individual pieces and baked or fried to a golden finish.

These are substantial: one or two pieces per person as part of a spread, or three to four as a main dish for someone who loves them. The pumpkin shell has a beautiful deep orange colour and a slightly crisp exterior that gives way to the earthy, lightly spiced walnut filling inside. The contrast of textures — crisp shell, soft fragrant filling — is what makes them so satisfying.
