Who This Is For
This is home cooking, not a medical diet. Your doctor sets your targets; we cook to the instructions you send us.
After a cholesterol test
Your doctor told you to follow a low-fat plan and you want to keep eating Lebanese food. We cook the same dishes baked, with measured or no olive oil, and tell you exactly what went in.
A parent in Lebanon, children abroad
Your mother or father in Metn or Beirut has been told to cut fat. You send us the instructions on WhatsApp, pick the days, and we deliver with a photo to you.
One light plate at the family table
One person needs the light version and the rest of the household eats as usual. We cook both from the same order and label which is which.
Lebanese food without the frying
No diagnosis, just a preference. Kibbeh, sambousek and pumpkin kibbeh from the oven, stews without ghee, salads with a measured dressing.
How We Cook It Lighter
The recipes stay Lebanese. What changes is the fat: where it comes from, how much goes in, and whether anything touches a frying pan.
- Kibbeh, sambousek and pumpkin kibbeh are baked in the oven instead of fried.
- Olive oil is measured per pot, or left out entirely if you prefer; you choose when you order.
- No ghee (samneh), no butter, no cream in any low-fat order.
- Lamb is replaced by lean minced meat or skinless chicken breast when you ask.
- The skin is removed from chicken before cooking, and stews are skimmed.
- More legumes and vegetables, less rice: mujaddara, mehshi with a vegetable filling, loubieh, fasoulia.
- Yoghurt dishes such as kibbeh b laban are made with plain low-fat yoghurt on request.
- We tell you what went into the order, including how much oil, on WhatsApp.

Cooked to your needs
The same tabkha, cooked the way you need it
Every dish on the menu can be cooked differently for you or for one person in the family. Tell us on WhatsApp when you order, the day before, and we cook it that way:
- No added salt (seasoned with lemon, garlic, sumac and herbs)
- Cooked with no oil at all
- A little olive oil only, measured
- Baked, not fried (kibbeh, sambousek, pumpkin kibbeh)
- Less rice or bread, more vegetables
- No added sugar
- Extra chicken breast or lean meat, less rice
- Soft texture, easy to chew
- No hot spice
We tell you exactly what went into your order when you ask on WhatsApp. If you follow a plan from your doctor or dietitian, send us their list and we cook to it. This is home cooking, not medical advice.
Weekly Family Plan

A fixed weekly schedule of tanjaras cooked low-fat each morning in our Fanar kitchen and delivered to your door, or to your parents' door, in Fanar, Metn, Beirut or Jounieh. Each delivery serves 4 to 5 people. Choose the days, send the instructions once, and we cook every delivery that way.
| Plan | Deliveries | Serves | Price |

"From" prices are per week before delivery, which depends on the area. You receive an itemised total on WhatsApp before the first delivery.
Single portions are possible. For one person we usually suggest a tanjara that keeps two or three days in the fridge, or a weekly plan, and we confirm the best option with you on WhatsApp.
Ordering for a Parent in Lebanon From Abroad
A common message we get: "My father in Beirut was told to eat low-fat, and he will not cook for himself." You send us the doctor's instructions on WhatsApp from Dubai, Paris, Montreal or Sydney, choose the days, and we deliver a tanjara cooked that way, baked not fried, with a photo to you after every delivery. The Weekly Family Plan starts at $60 a week for three deliveries.
Why Start From Lebanese Home Cooking
Lebanese home cooking, built on vegetables, legumes, burghul, olive oil and small amounts of meat or fish, is usually counted as part of the Mediterranean diet (a 2024 study in Nutrients describes a Lebanese Mediterranean Diet Score, PMC11313688). The general advice published by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health and the World Health Organization for people with high blood fats is to limit fried food, animal fat and processed food and to favour vegetables, legumes and olive oil, which is roughly what a baked, skimmed, measured-oil tabkha does.
Ask your doctor or dietitian what is right for you. This page describes how we cook, not what you should eat.

Low-Fat Lebanese Meals: FAQs
Is this food for cholesterol patients?
We cook low-fat versions of our Lebanese dishes on request and describe exactly how each one was made: baked not fried, olive oil measured or left out, lean meat or chicken breast, no ghee, butter or cream. Whether a dish fits your plan is for your doctor or dietitian to decide; we are a home kitchen, not a clinic.
Do you fry anything?
Not when you ask for the low-fat version. Kibbeh, sambousek and pumpkin kibbeh are baked in the oven, the pita for fattoush is toasted, and stews are cooked without frying the onions in fat. Say "baked, not fried" when you order.
Which oil do you use?
Olive oil, measured per pot, or none at all if you prefer. We do not use ghee (samneh), butter, cream or vegetable shortening in a low-fat order. You choose between a little olive oil and no oil when you order.
Can you use chicken breast instead of lamb?
Yes. In mehshi, kibbeh and stews we replace lamb with lean minced meat or skinless chicken breast when asked, and we skim the broth. Molokhia and siyadieh are already chicken and fish dishes.
Can one person's portion be the light version while the rest of the family eats as usual?
Yes. Tell us who needs the low-fat version and we cook their part of the order that way, with the regular version for everyone else. A small tanjara for one person keeps two or three days in the fridge.
Can I order this for my father or mother in Lebanon from abroad?
Yes. Many of these orders come from children abroad. Send us the instructions from the doctor on WhatsApp, choose the days, and we deliver to your parent in Fanar, Metn, Beirut or Jounieh with a photo to you after each delivery. The Weekly Family Plan starts at $60 a week for three deliveries.
Where do you deliver and what does it cost?
We cook in Fanar and deliver to Fanar, Metn, Beirut and Jounieh, Monday to Saturday. The delivery fee depends on your area and is in the itemised WhatsApp quote. Order the day before.
Can you tell me the ingredients?
Yes. Ask on WhatsApp and we tell you what went into your order, ingredient by ingredient, including how much oil was used. If there is a food you must avoid, say so when you order.
Is this a medical diet?
No. This page describes how we cook, not what you should eat. We follow the instructions you or your doctor give us. Ask your doctor or dietitian what is right for you; this is home cooking, not medical advice.
Order for Tomorrow
Tell Us "Baked, Not Fried" and We Cook It That Way
One WhatsApp message with your area, the dish or the days, and whether you want a little olive oil or none. We reply with what is cooking and an itemised total, usually within the hour, Monday to Saturday.
