The same tabkha, cooked the way you need it
Every dish on the menu can be cooked differently for you or for one person in the family. Tell us on WhatsApp when you order, the day before, and we cook it that way:
- No added salt (seasoned with lemon, garlic, sumac and herbs)
- Cooked with no oil at all
- A little olive oil only, measured
- Baked, not fried (kibbeh, sambousek, pumpkin kibbeh)
- Less rice or bread, more vegetables
- No added sugar
- Extra chicken breast or lean meat, less rice
- Soft texture, easy to chew
- No hot spice
We tell you exactly what went into your order when you ask on WhatsApp. If you follow a plan from your doctor or dietitian, send us their list and we cook to it. This is home cooking, not medical advice.
Dishes That Are Light as We Normally Cook Them
These are vegetable, legume or fish dishes that are not fried. They are the usual starting point for a lighter week; every one of them can also be made with no added salt or no oil.
Prices are "from" and before delivery. Kibbeh, sambousek and the baked trays are available baked instead of fried on request. Full menu with prices →
Why Lebanese Home Cooking Is a Good Place to Start
Traditional Lebanese tabkha is built on vegetables, lentils, beans, burghul, rice, olive oil and small amounts of meat or fish, which is why it is usually counted as part of the Mediterranean diet. A 2024 study of 2,048 adults in Lebanon (published in Nutrients) found that older adults and women stick to this pattern most, mainly because of health concerns.
The weak point is salt and frying. A 2022 review in Frontiers in Physiology on salt in Lebanon reported that more than 60% of the traditional dishes it tested were high in sodium, and that Lebanese adults eat well above the World Health Organization limit of 5 grams of salt a day. That is why "the same dish with less salt" is worth asking for, and why a grandmother's kitchen that seasons with lemon, garlic, sumac and herbs can do it without the food tasting flat.

This page describes how we cook, not what you should eat. Ask your doctor or dietitian what is right for you.
Training, or on a High-Protein Plan?
Say "high protein" when you order. We add chicken breast or lean meat to the dish and cut the rice, so a molokhia, a fasoulia or a kibbeh b laban arrives with more protein on the plate and fewer carbs. Tell us how much you want and we cook to it.
Ordering for a Parent in Lebanon From Abroad
Many of these orders come from sons and daughters in Dubai, Paris, Montreal or Sydney whose mother or father in Metn or Beirut has been told to cut salt, fat or sugar. You send us the doctor's list on WhatsApp, choose the days, and we deliver a tanjara cooked that way with a photo to you after every delivery. The Weekly Family Plan starts at $60 a week for three deliveries.

Healthy Lebanese Food: FAQs
Is Lebanese food healthy?
Much of it is: traditional Lebanese home cooking is built on vegetables, legumes, burghul, rice, olive oil and small amounts of meat, which is why it is often grouped with the Mediterranean diet. The catch is salt and frying. A 2022 review in Frontiers in Physiology found that more than 60% of the traditional Lebanese dishes tested were high in sodium. We cook the same dishes with less salt, less oil or none, and baked instead of fried, when you ask.
What can you change in a dish?
Any dish on the menu can be made with no added salt, with no oil at all or a little measured olive oil, baked instead of fried, with less rice or bread and more vegetables, with no added sugar, with extra chicken breast or lean meat, in a soft texture, or without hot spice. Tell us on WhatsApp when you order.
Can one person in the family eat differently from the rest?
Yes. Tell us which person needs what, and we cook their part of the order that way. A common request is a low-salt version for a parent and the regular version for everyone else.
Do you have single portions or only tanjara?
We cook by the tanjara, which serves 4 to 5 people from $20, and by the weekly plan. Single portions are possible; for one person we usually suggest a tanjara that covers two or three days in the fridge, or a weekly plan, and we confirm the best option with you on WhatsApp.
Can you tell me what is in each dish?
Yes. Ask on WhatsApp and we tell you exactly what went into your order, ingredient by ingredient. If you have an allergy or a food you must avoid, say so when you order.
Do you offer high-protein meals?
On request we add chicken breast or lean meat and reduce the rice in any dish. Say "high protein" when you order and tell us how much protein you want on the plate.
Where do you deliver and what does it cost?
We cook in Fanar and deliver to Fanar, Metn, Beirut and Jounieh, Monday to Saturday. The delivery fee depends on your area and is in the itemised WhatsApp quote. Order the day before.
Is this a medical diet?
No. We are a home kitchen, not a clinic. We cook to the instructions you or your doctor give us, and we describe exactly how each dish is cooked. Ask your doctor or dietitian what is right for you.

Tell Us How You Need It Cooked
One WhatsApp message with your area, the dish or the days, and what to change (salt, oil, frying, rice, sugar, protein, texture). We reply with what is cooking and an itemised total, usually within the hour, Monday to Saturday.
