Gourmet Saad cooks a real Lebanese tabkha in Fanar every morning and delivers it to their door, and the photo is on your phone before you wake up.
Montreal Time vs Beirut Time
Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa are 7 hours behind Beirut for most of the year. Our working day in Fanar runs from about 1 am to 11 am your time.
- Message us the day before, ideally in your morning. At 9 am in Toronto it is 4 pm in Beirut, and we can answer while you are at your desk.
- An evening message, after the kids are in bed, is read first thing in Beirut; the reply is waiting when you wake up.
- A midday delivery in Beirut is 5 am your time. Saturday deliveries arrive while your weekend is still asleep; there are no deliveries on Sunday.

The Weekly Family Plan, from $60 a week
Prices are in US dollars. Each delivery is one tanjara that serves 4 to 5 people, so one pot feeds both parents for about two days.

How many hours behind Lebanon is Montreal or Toronto?
Seven hours for most of the year. Canada and Lebanon change their clocks on different weekends, so the gap is 6 hours for about two weeks in March and 8 hours for about a week at the end of October. Vancouver is 10 hours behind Beirut, Calgary and Edmonton 9.
Can my parents call you directly?
Yes. Their whole morning happens while you sleep, so they can call or WhatsApp the same number in Arabic to change a delivery time or ask for a dish. We let you know what changed.
How do I get confirmation that the food arrived?
We send you a WhatsApp photo of every delivery. A midday delivery in Beirut is 5 am in Montreal and Toronto, so the photo is waiting when you wake up.
Can I pause the plan while I visit Lebanon in summer?
Yes. Pause or skip any week with one message. The same applies the other way round: if your parents spend a few months with you in Canada, pause until they fly back.
How is payment arranged?
Payment is arranged with you individually on WhatsApp before the first delivery.
What if my parents live outside Fanar, Metn, Beirut or Jounieh?
