Send Home-Cooked Meals to Your Parents in Lebanon from Australia
From Sydney, Lebanon is a full day of flying and a whole night out of sync. When you finish work, your parents are only starting their morning. Send your order in your evening and we confirm it as Beirut wakes up. The next day a tanjara, cooked that morning in Fanar by Chef Mirna Saad, is at their door, and the photo is on your phone by dinner.
Sydney Time vs Beirut Time
Sydney and Melbourne are 9 hours ahead of Beirut in the Australian summer (late October to late March) and 7 hours ahead in the Australian winter (April to early October).
- Your evening is our working morning. A message at 6 pm in Sydney arrives at 9 am Beirut time in the Australian summer, 11 am in winter, and we usually reply the same evening your time.
- Order on your Monday evening, and the tanjara is delivered on Tuesday in Beirut. The delivery photo reaches you on Tuesday evening, around 9 pm in summer or 7 pm in winter.
- We deliver Monday to Saturday Lebanon time. Your Monday-morning message reaches Beirut on Sunday night, when we are closed, so allow a day.
How It Works from Australia
- WhatsApp us after work: your parents' area, how many days a week, and any dietary needs.
- While you sleep, we prepare a week's menu and an itemised total, delivery included, so it is waiting when you wake up.
- Payment is arranged with you individually on WhatsApp before the first delivery.
- We agree a delivery time with your parents directly, in Arabic, and send you a photo of every delivery.
Weekly Family Plan
The Weekly Family Plan, from $60 a week
Prices are in US dollars. Each delivery is one tanjara that serves 4 to 5 people, so one pot feeds both parents for about two days.
| Plan | Deliveries | Serves | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3-Day Plan | 3 tanjaras a week (for example Mon, Wed, Fri) | 4–5 people per delivery | from $60 / week |
| 5-Day Plan | 5 tanjaras a week (Mon to Fri) | 4–5 people per delivery | from $100 / week |
| 6-Day Plan | 6 tanjaras a week (Mon to Sat) | 4–5 people per delivery | from $120 / week |
| One-time gift | 1 tanjara on a date you choose | 4–5 people | from $20 |
"From" prices are before delivery, which depends on the area. You receive an itemised total on WhatsApp before the first delivery.

Dates Australian-Lebanese Families Send Meals For
Lebanese Mother's Day, 21 March
Not the Australian one in May. It is easy to miss from Sydney; set a reminder and send a tanjara with a message from you.
Christmas in winter
You are at the beach; your parents are in a cold Metn apartment. A warm stew at the door is the closest thing to being there.
Easter, both calendars
When the Western and Eastern Easters fall on different Sundays, a tray takes one dish off your mother's list for each.

Ordering from Australia: FAQs
How far ahead of Lebanon is Sydney or Melbourne?
Both cities change their clocks, and so does Lebanon, on different dates. Sydney and Melbourne are 9 hours ahead of Beirut from late October to late March, 7 hours ahead from early April to early October, and 8 hours ahead in the few weeks in between. Brisbane is 8 hours ahead in Lebanon's winter and 7 in its summer; Perth is 6 and 5.
Can my parents call you directly?
Yes. With you asleep for most of their day, that matters. They can call or WhatsApp the same number in Arabic to move a delivery time or ask for a dish, and we let you know what changed.
How do I get confirmation that the food arrived?
We send you a WhatsApp photo of every delivery. A midday delivery in Beirut reaches you around 9 pm in Sydney during the Australian summer, or 7 pm in the Australian winter.
Can I pause the plan while I visit Lebanon?
Yes. Pause or skip any week with one message. Trips home from Australia tend to be long ones, over Christmas or in July; pause for the whole visit and restart the week you fly back.
How is payment arranged?
Payment is arranged with you individually on WhatsApp before the first delivery.
What if my parents live outside Fanar, Metn, Beirut or Jounieh?
Send us their area on WhatsApp. We will tell you honestly whether we can reach them, and what delivery costs there, before you commit to anything.
